SPRING TIME DIFFUSION

Having been snowed in for 3 weeks down here in The Pyrenees spring in now in the air. We are in full building mode and are about to begin construction of the outdoor theatre. The dates are flying in thick and fast, especially for “Jonny & Sybil” (see “Tour Page”). All being well the 3 of us (Ben, Saskia and Dixie Lu) will be going to L’ile de Réunion in September for one month with “Jonny & Sybil”. I’ll be trying to keep the “Tour” page updated as various gigs get confirmed! Meanwhile wishing all beings good health and honey in the heart.

Long Time No News!

Apologies for the lack of news recently! It’s been a full-on summer. We premiered “The Fenomenarium” and both toured our solo shows in Belgium, Holland, England, Germany, France, and Switzerland, where Ben won 3rd prize (!!!) for his solo show “Le Funambule Striptease”. Saskia played “Jonny & Sybil” at Charleville Mezieres and Sotteville Les Rouens with great success, and will be playing the show in France at various events next summer. We’ll post the dates on the “Tour” page as soon as they get confirmed. The very big news is that we have MOVED to Montbrun Bocage, a beautiful village 50km south of Toulouse. We will now be operating from here and will gradually start to play more in France. In the summer of 2012, however, we will still be in Northern Europe for much of the time.

We are busy now getting our tour together for 2012. This will include playing “The Fenomenarium” at the wonderful “Theater Op Markt” festival in Belgium. More news coming soon!

Jonny & Sybil @ Sotteville Les Rouens!

Saskia’s solo show Jonny & Sybil has been accepted to play Sotteville Les Rouens promo festival in Rouen, France on June 24, 25 and 26. We’re moving to L’Ariege in the French Pyrenees in September so this is particularly good news. This does mean that we won’t be going to Glastonbury Festival this year. Can’t do it all!

Our summer season is up and running, Saskia is playing ‘Jonny & Sybil’ at various events over the summer and Ben is playing mainly ‘Le Funambule Striptease’ and ‘Benny Formaggio’ (see ‘Tour’ page). ‘The Fenomenarium’ premiered at the Buitenkans promo festival in Enschede where it received the top rating possible from the jury. The show can be seen this summer in Hoboken, Lommel, and Mol (Belgium), and in Reuver, Weert, Arcen and Baarlo (Holland). The dates are up on the ‘Tour’page.

Apologies for the delay in updating! We’ve been really busy and are just now getting our heads around the website. In brief: Saskia’s tour of Turkey with ‘Jonny & Sybil’ was a great success, she played 17 shows in total, 9 in Izmir and 8 in Luleburgaz. Since we came back from Turkey we have taken delivery of our new decor for ‘The Fenomenarium’ (built by the lovely Rudi and Dominic in the atelier at CC Dommelhof in Limburg, Belgium) and done the 2 week residency at Dommelhof working on ‘The Fenomenarium’ with Kevin (Brooking). The tryout of the show that we did towards the end of the residency was really well received by the assorted public. Various bookings are coming in which we will post shortly on the ‘Tour’ page.

Jonny & Sybil going to Turkey!

In March this year we’ll be going to Turkey for Saskia to play Jonny and Sybil at the International Puppet Festival in Izmir, and at another festival near the border of Bulgaria (can’t remember the name right here right now). Before that we’ll be heading back up north from the Pyrenees (where we are now) in the middle of February to rebuild the decor of “The Phenomenarium”. Unfortunately the decor was stolen last November along with our nice new van!

From April 11 – 25 we’ll be in residence at CC Dommelhof to put the finishing touches to our new duo show “The Phenomenarium” (full details about the show on this site). We’ll be there with our technician Glenda Langue and also our director Kevin Brooking for some of the time. Towards the end of the residence period we’ll be doing a tryout of the show. Will put the date up here as soon as we know it!
